1. Palm Jumeirah can be seen from space

Palm Jumeirah is one of the famed palm Islands in Dubai. This $12 billion project started in 2001 and six years later, the first resident of the Island moved in. The 5.2-sq-km archipelago resembles a palm tree within a circle. The Island was built with sand and stones instead of concrete or steel.

Dubai’s love for gold is no secret. It hosts the world’s longest gold chain, known as the ‘Dubai celebration chain’ which is 5 KM long and weighs 240 KG. It took 45 days 10 hours each day for 100 craftsmen to produce the chain. This is so far a world record.

This is one of the lowest crime rates in the world.

13. Dubai to build world first climate controlled city

To address the issue of rising temperature, Dubai is working on an initiative to build a climate controlled city under a giant glass dome. The plan is to develop a line of climate-controlled indoor spaces that include 65 malls, residential societies and even entire indoor cities integrated with a car-centric design. This will allow people to spend entire days without even stepping outside.
